The English glosses used by the editors of MYYC are basically descriptive labels. In case more than one word is found under the same heading, it will be necessary to compare it with the corresponding lemmata in DNBB (or DKÜ, if necessary) in order to ascertain the exact meaning. For example, guus and pii jaan appear both sub箱子 ‘chest, torso’ (MYYC 92), however according to DNBB, these words are not entirely synonymous, see pijaan箱子 ‘torso’ (173a), but guus 柜子 ‘chest’ (69b).
