Description

México, D.F.: El Colegio de México, Centro de Investigación para la Integración Social (Archivo de Lenguas Indígenas de México), 1980. — 160 (161) p.This volume contains information on Zoque, an indigenous language of Mexico spoken in Chimalapa, in the state of Oaxaca. Zoque belongs to the Mixe-Zoquean (Mishe-Sokean) linguistic family. The objective of collecting such a representative sampling of the linguistic richness of the region was to store it for typological and historic comparisons. To gather data, questionnaires designed to elicit responses that would reveal the linguistics, vocabulary, grammar, and syntax of the language were administered to the indigenous people of the area. (The book is written in Spanish).
