A History of the U.S. Army Security Agency during the Cold War in West Germany. Based on articles by Thomas Boghardt and Phil Rutherford. The present author served in ASA from October 1961-1964 and was stationed in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. He was trained as a teletype operator and in Frankfurt. was assigned to the section where the intelligence analysts prepared the daily brief on Russian military activities. Not an analyst himself, he typed out the reports which were then transmitted by teletype to Arlington for incorporation into the Presidents Daily Brief.
