Asmara: Ethiopian Studies Centre, 1987. — 191 p.This Concise Dictionary has approximately 6,000 entries of the most common English words. Its (dm is to aid students in high schools and those who study the English language at home. Only essential words of everyday use, and which the student needs to know the correct meaning in Tigrinya, have been included. Rare, technical and metaphorical words have, therefore, been avoided. It is hoped that this dictionary will serve a useful guide for the student until he reaches the standard of using an English-English dictionary. In compiling the entries and in rendering the equivalent Tigrinya meaning the author has carefully consulted the following works: Amsalu Aklilu and G. P. Mosback, English-Amharic Dictionary (Oxford University Press, Addis Аbаbа, 1973); The Concise Oxford Dictionary (Oxford University Press, London, 1954); Encyclopedic World Dictionary (The Hamlyn Publishing Group Limited, London, 1971).
