Publisher: PROPINSI DAERAH ISTIMEWA ACEH Publication date: 1990 Number of pages: 72To some great extent the family planning program which was officially introduced to the Acehnese society Aceh has generally been a success, in the sense that the number of new adoptersand active participants (practitioners of birth control program) have been growing very impressively from year to year. During the second Pelita (the Five Year Development), for instance, over 60% of the 92.000 adopters targeted could be reached or covered in the program. In the third Pelita (1979-1983) the program could reach over 187.000 eligibles more than 175.000 targeted during that five year period. The target was also increasing in the fourth Pelita. From the target of over 400.000 eligible women, about 82 % of them could then be reached through the program in the designated five year period.
