Description

This study focuses on multi-text codices preserving Middle Dutch texts (ca. 1250-1500), and tests an approach in order to answer the questions ‘who was the intended user of the codex?’ and ‘what was its intended function?’ when no concrete information about its user and function can be found in the co- dex. As part of the HERA funded project ‘Dynamics of the Medieval Manuscript’, this study mainly deals with multi-text codices containing at least one short narrative verse text.
