SAINT AUGUSTINE OF HIPPO COLLECTION [50 BOOKS] — Quality Formatting and Value — Active Index, Multiple Table of Contents for all Books — Multiple IllustrationsAugustine of Hippo, also known as Saint Augustine, Saint Austin, Blessed Augustine, and the Doctor of Grace, was an early Christian theologian and philosopher whose writings influenced the development of Western Christianity and Western philosophy. He was the bishop of Hippo Regius (modern-day Annaba, Algeria), located in Numidia (Roman province of Africa). He is viewed as one of the most important Church Fathers in Western Christianity for his writings in the Patristic Era. Among his most important works are The City of God and Confessions. According to his contemporary, Jerome, Augustine "established anew the ancient Faith." In his early years, he was heavily influenced by Manichaeism and afterward by the neo-Platonism of Plotinus. After his baptism and conversion to Christianity in 387, Augustine developed his own approach to philosophy and theology, accommodating a variety of methods and perspectives. Believing that the grace of Christ was indispensable to human freedom, he helped formulate the doctrine of original sin and made seminal contributions to the development of just war theory.—BOOKS—A TREATISE AGAINST TWO LETTERS OF THE PELAGIANSA TREATISE CONCERNING MAN’S PERFECTION IN RIGHTEOUSNESSA TREATISE ON FAITH AND THE CREEDA TREATISE ON GRACE AND FREE WILLA TREATISE ON THE GIFT OF PERSEVERANCEA TREATISE ON THE GRACE OF CHRIST, AND ON ORIGINAL SINA TREATISE ON THE MERITS AND FORGIVENESS OF SINS, AND ON THE BAPTISM OF INFANTSA TREATISE ON THE PREDESTINATION OF THE SAINTSA TREATISE ON THE SOUL AND ITS ORIGINA TREATISE ON THE SPIRIT AND THE LETTERA TREATISE ON NATURE AND GRACEA TREATISE ON REBUKE AND GRACEA WORK ON THE PROCEEDINGS OF PELAGIUSACTS OR DISPUTATION AGAINST FORTUNATUS THE MANICHAEANAGAINST LYINGAGAINST THE EPISTLE OF MANICHAEUS, CALLED FUNDAMENTALANSWER TO THE LETTERS OF PETILIAN, THE DONATISTCONCERNING FAITH OF THINGS NOT SEENCONCERNING THE NATURE OF GOOD, AGAINST THE MANICHAEANSEXPOSITIONS ON THE BOOK OF PSALMSLECTURES OR TRACTATES ON THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO ST.
