Sedang is particularly close to Rengao, Halang, Jeh, Mơnâm, Kayong, Hrê and Tơdrah (all members of the North Bahnaric group). The Sedang live in central Kon Tum province in the south Vietnam central highlands, but also in eastern Laos.
