Next, the necessary background on the Bantawa language (§1.2) will be given. Introductory notes on the culture and life of the Bantawa people are added to the texts in Appendix A. This book is a grammar of the Bantawa language. Previous grammars of this language have been published, viz. Bantava (V.S. 2055), Rai (1985), and a few articles have been published on the language as well. However, I believe that there is still ample scope for new work on Bantawa. This grammar differs from previous grammars in several ways.
