Description

The main purpose of this work is to provide a translation of Aristotle’s Categories and De Interpretatione that shall be of service to the serious student of philosophy who does not read Greek. The existing English versions are not well suited to the needs of such a reader: they are not suffi­ciently literal, and they do not attempt to preserve con­sistency in the rendering of key terms. The present translation sticks more closely to the original in order to enable the Greekless reader to exercise his own judgementon questions of interpretation.
