Presently, a series of questions concerning an etymology of the future participle –acak/-ecek in the modern Turkic languages does not have a due and exhaustive treatment in the Turkology. In the meantime, similar and distinctive features of the future participle –acak/-ecek in the Turkic languages were revealed. The relevance of the paper is conditioned by the fact that similar and distinctive features of linguistic phenomena in specific languages could be identified precisely due to the comparative-historical analysis.Keywords: participles, affix –acak/-ecek, Turkic languages, Oghuz, Kipchak, comparative-historical analysis.
