Description

Yunnan Minority Language Commission, Lijiang Dongba Culture Institute. ISO/IECTC1/SC2/WG2 N4043, 2010. — 186 p.As “the only living pictographic script in the world”, the Dongba script has high academic value and worth to be developed and utilized. Recently, the development of information and technology industry has promoted computer processing of Dongba pictographs. Several Dongba index systems and input methods such as e-Dongba have been developed. However, all existing software is made by means of scanning based on the dictionary of Fang. It is difficult to popularize them because there is no international standard. Encoding the characters in Unicode will make data transmission on the internet easier and people all over the world who are interested in Dongba can exchange their ideas freely.
