Book information
Description
This book compiled by Pauline F. Myrick details the journey of Moore County Schools through integration. While most school systems in the South integrated slowly and difficulty, Moore County North Carolina integrated swiftly and without much turbulence, mainly due to the phenomenal leadership of Moore County Schools leaders such as Robert E. Lee. (unrelated to the Confederate general) This book also details the rapid expansion of the public school system during this time, and the ways in which the school system was dramatically redesigned and modernized.
