Description

Ternopil', Aston, 371 p. An Ukrainian-Subkarpathian Rusyn (here called Lemko, Ukrainian lemkivs'kyj) dictionary. It contains 10.760 Ukrainian entries with 26.000 equivalent Rusyn lexical items. There is an historical introduction about the Rusyn population and its diaspora in Europe and beyond. Some pages are devoted to the orthographic rules: in the dictionary every Rusyn word bears the graphic accent used to mark the phonetic stress, a piece of information that is very important because it shows the difference between Rusyn and Slovak prosody.
