La continuité référentielle en moyen français : règles syntactico-sémantiques

This thesis describes the phenomena of referential continuity in a corpus made up of three texts of prose, writings at different times and of distinct kind thus allowing a triangular comparison: Quinze joyes de mariage and Chroniques of Froissart (14th century) as well as the Memoires of commynes (15th century). The objective of this study is to account for the mechanisms and the rules which govern the choice of the referential expressions in the anaphoric chain, by taking account of the constraints coming from the kind and the historical period, as well as internal structure of the texts, since those have a narrative basic structure including sequences of brought back speech (direct and indirect).
