The author tries to keep mathematical details and formalism to a minimum, so anyone familiar with elementary quantum mechanics, special relativity and some nuclear physics will find the book comprehensible. Particular attention is paid to isospin and unitary symmetry; chiral symmetry, current algebra, CP violation and the unified gauge theory of weak and electromagnetic interactions are also discussed.
