Description

Second Edition, Revised and Enlarged. With an Introduction by Bartholomew J. Eustace. The Dominican rite is associated with the memory of some of the Church's greatest sons. It was the rite of fifteen canonized Saints and more than three hundred Blesseds; and two Doctors of the Church — Albert the Great and Thomas Aquinas — have chanted the praises of the Almighty and offered the Bloodless Sacrifice according to its norms. Then, too, the Dominican rite long fulfilled the function of preserving the memory of ancient Roman liturgical practices which the Roman Church itself had long since abandoned. Hence the importance of an adequate understanding and appreciation of the Dominican rite. Introduction Author's Preface Contents List of Illustrations Abbreviations 1.
