Book information
Description
IS THE TENTH ROOT OF TEN A LITTLE BIT MORE THAN THE ROOT OF THE SQUARE OF THE SIXTH ROOT OF FOUR? Got it? This is just one of the stylish, exciting puzzles in this unique compilation. Pursue the elusive number, discover a new dimension, solve a chess problem, entertain your friends — find out if you are a clear thinker. Tim Sole’s sophisticated collection of conundrums is really something! Tim Sole was born in Braughing, Hertfordshire, and educated at Hertford Grammar School and Sussex University. He was employed by the Sun Alliance Insurance Group in 1975 as an actuarial trainee and qualified as an actuary five years later. He married in 1982 and shortly afterwards was appointed Assistant Actuary for Sun Alliance Life in Australia. In 1986 he left Sydney to move to Wellington as Actuary for Sun Alliance Life in New Zealand. His hobbies include squash, politics, theatre, music, bridge, travel, dancing, snooker, cycling and, of course, puzzles and mathematical games.
