The story discloses the character's growth in faith, hope, and love. Through a series of flashbacks and encounters with friends, family members, and other patients in a hospital, the reader experiences the spiritual journey of a man who, even though he faces death, continues to learn new and vital ways into rich and rewarding experiences of God's grace, mercy, and goodness.
