Analyzing shape, accuracy, and precison of shooting results with shotGroups
Book information
Description
2014. – 42 р. The shotGroups package adds functionality to the open source statistical environment R. It provides functions to read in, plot, statistically describe, analyze, and compare shooting data with respect to group shape, precision, and accuracy. This includes graphical methods, descriptive statistics, and inference tests using standard, but also non-parametric and robust statistical techniques. The data can be imported from files produced by OnTarget PC and OnTarget TDS, or from custom data files in text format with a similar structure.Contents. Introduction. Analyzing bullet hole data. Reading in data. Performing a combined analysis. Analyzing group shape. Analyzing group spread – precision. Analyzing group location – accuracy. Comparing groups. Additional functionality. Descriptive precision measures. Estimating hit probability. Region for a given hit probability: CEP, SEP and confidence ellipse. Hit probability for a given region. Extrapolating CEP and confidence ellipse to different distances. Literature related to CEP. Distributions for radial error. Plotting scaled bullet holes on a target background. Simulate ring count. Conversion between absolute and angular size units. Calculating the angular diameter of an object. Less accurate calculation of angular size. Included data sets. References.
