Description

The recipes, both dog and cat, refer to "baking soda (calcium carbonate)." Baking soda is NOT calcium carbonate. It is sodium bicarbonate or CHNaO3. Calcium carbonate is CaCO3 and is found in calcium supplements, eggshells and antacids for example. Many homemade dog/cat food recipes call for it.

I cannot think of any circumstances under which a cat or dog would require baking soda in their food and there may be negative consequences if their diet is already high in calcium.

I'm disappointed. I was really looking forward to this book. If this kind of egregious error exists, what else might be wrong?
