Dédiée à la mémoire d'André Crépin qui a organisé les trois précédentes rencontres, la quatrième «Journée d’études anglo-normandes » évoque, dans leurs conséquences sur l’idiome et sur sa pratique, les «spécificités culturelles » qui entourent l’anglo-normand — politiques, sociologiques, artistiques, linguistiques (par le voisinage du moyen anglais). Il ne s’agit pas ici d’étudier l’environnement culturel en soi, mais d’en apprécier les effets, tout particulièrement sur le lexique. This fourth “Anglo-Norman studies day” was dedicated to the memory of André Crépin, the organizer of the previous three days. It was devoted to the investigation of the political, sociological, artistic and linguistic “cultural specificities” surrounding Anglo-Norman — the last through the proximity of Middle English — and their consequences for the language and its use. This is not so much a matter of studying the cultural environment per se, as of analysing its effects, notably on lexis.
