Ancient Democracy and Modern Ideology
Book information
Description
In this book, P.J. Rhodes surveys the different attitudes to and ways of studying democracy which have been adopted over the centuries, with particular attention to work produced in the second half of the twentieth century. He argues that, although total objectivity is unattainable, historians ought to approach it as closely as they can, for if they do that they will do better history and will also be more useful to the modern world.
