After providing physical, chemical, and toxicological information on some of the more dangerous agents and compounds; a summary of U.S. government programs and policies regarding these chemicals; and detector selection factors; they present chapters explaining the use of ion mobility spectrometry, flame photometry, infrared spectroscopy, surface acoustic wave and electrochemical techniques, colorimetric technology, and photoionization and flame ionization techniques. Appendixes include a material safety data sheet, an index of chemical agent detectors and supplies and manufacturers, and an outline for standard operational procedure.
