Description

Kidnapped by Gypsies! Dancing Bears! Ghosts and haunted castles! An innocent young lady wanders about a city in the midst of being bombed searching for the haunting music of a piano being played mysteriously in the distance... These and many other stories are just the beginning of the fascinating and almost unbelievable early life adventures Eetla Ein Soracco. Wanting to preserve these stories for her children, grandchildren and generations to come, at age 78, Eetla began writing about her life. Born in 1928 in pre-WW2 Eastern Europe, we get a glimpse of life as it was in the simpler and innocent "olden days" as seen through the eyes of a young girl growing into a young woman. Eetla's fairytale life starts off in her beloved city of Tartu in the county of Estonia. Life is full of adventure for a curious young girl born to a household of privilege. From adventures in the city to visits in the bucolic countryside, we see a world of sleigh rides, perfect Christmas mornings and celebrations with dear family and friends. This would all change as the world darkens in the early 1940s and the family is eventually forced to leave their beloved country. Ever equipped with her brains, charm and beauty, Eetla overcomes adversity and survives and begins life anew in a new post war world. The author invites you to go back in time and enjoy these stories a more simple and innocent time.
