Description

The thesis of this study is that the German subjunctive in indirect speech is a logophoric mood, that is, a verbal mood that refers to one of the speaker’s several different perspectives. This idea is developed in terms of formal semantics and defended against a series of other formal semantic hypotheses in the literature.
