For the master of Pho-wa would doubtless tell us that all phantasms are explicable under two categories: (1) as visuali- zations unconsciously projected by the percipient as hallu- cinations, in response to stimuli produced telepathically by an external agency, human or non-human, incarnate or dis- carnate; or (a) as actual ‘astral’ projections of the so-called dead or living.1 Such then, are, in outline, the traditional teachings and lore, the practices, and the guru’s interpretation of and warning concerning this yoga. [THE PATH OF TRANSFERENCE: THE YOGA OF CONSCIOUSNESS-TRANS- FERENCE] (9) Then, concluding with a loud exclamatory utterance of PHAṬ! the Guru Himself [in His illusory form, as visualized, is to be thought of as being transferred] to the Dharma- Dhātu State in the Akaniṣḥṭḥa Heaven and there absorbed into the heart of Vajra-Dhāra [in His true form].1 (10) Abide in that condition of spiritual exaltation for a time. (11) Then perform the rites of dedication,2 and recite the Paths [or Prayers] of Good-Wishes3 over and over again. (12) Those devotees who have realized the at-one-ment of mind and phenomena should perform the rite of conscious- ness-transference on behalf of a deceased person as followeth: (13) First recite the Refuge and the Resolution, in the state [of mental quiescence] devoid of thought-forming, and pray repeatedly to the Inspired Line of Gurus, Who are the THE PATH OF THE MYSTIC SACRIFICE: THE YOGA OF SUBDUING THE LOWER SELF1 [THE PATH OF THE MYSTIC SACRIFICE: THE YOGA OF SUBDUING THE LOWER SELF] AŪṂ!
