Das Buch leistet einen Beitrag zur qualitativen Psychotherapieforschung. Sylvia Roderburg erarbeitet zunächst ein gesprächsanalytisches Forschungsinstrument zur Beschreibung metaphorischer Kommunikation, in das sie konstruktivistische und kognitiv-linguistische Positionen einbezieht. Anschließend untersucht sie die Wirksamkeit von Metaphern im therapeutischen Prozeß und entwickelt eine Perspektive, in der sprachliche Prozesse als zentrale Wirkfaktoren in Therapien deutlich werden.
