Description

This is an almost entirely non-mathematical introduction to the topic described in its title. It is easy to read and provides an easy stepping-stone to more complete treatments of the individual topics. I liked the inclusion of a chapter on HOMER which is a free, easy to use and quite useful small system simulation program from NREL. It seems to suffer by the authors' being in an academic institution in a country that does not supply the technology described forcing them to rely on published information for much of the contents.
