John Tolands «Pictorial Documentary» of Adolf Hitler was an attempt to capitalize on the apparently unexpected sucess of his Hitler biography (titled simply, «Adolf Hitler»).The authors pictorial biography recycles portions of the text from his original biography of Hitler and surrounds the text with photos of the topic under discussion (e.g., Hitlers background-childhood). There are over 450 photos altogether and a well-written and informative caption is provided for each one. (A section of color photos is included but they are less than spectacular, being primarily drawings by Hitler, postcards from World War I, and Nazi posters.)
