Türkçe anatomi terimlerinin etimolojik ve semantik açıdan incelenmesi

We have chosen 19 dictionaries about anatomy and medicine which were published after the establishment of republic. In these Works, we have determined the Turkish words those suggested as an equivalentto the 1658 Latin terms which we have listed and were given in Terminologia Anatomica. We have analyzed the Turkish equivalents in etymological and semantic point of view by searching Türk Dil Kurum?s dictionary. As a result of our study we found that no Turkish equivalents were created for 16.7% of 1658 Latin anatomical terms and 82.9% of these terms were adjectives. We have seen that in 59.8% translation, in 35.6% simile and in 4.6% public words were used as a derivation method for Turkish equivalents. In nouns "-cık", "-ma", "-lık", "- ıcı" and in adjectives "-sal", "-ıl", "-lı", "-sı" were the mostly preferred derivational suffixes for creating terms. Besides, we have realized that different Latin terms were the equivalent for the same Turkish word, in these suggested equivalents. After the etymological search we have made, we determined that most of the words which suggested as Turkish were originally foreign. Arabic, Persian and French terms were the most seen as its considered with our historical past. As a result, we have evaluated the present situation in etymological and semantic point of view by analyzing the anatomical terms in dictionaries that have published in recent 60 years. In this manner, we intented to help and guide to whom that would work on derivation of Turkish anatomical terms.
