Description

This is the last edition of a legendary astronomy textbook, first written by Professor George Abell of UCLA.  Many astronomy students learned their astronomy from Abell's book.  When Abell passed away, the book was continued and updated by Sidney Wolff, the first woman in the U.S. to head a national observatory and David Morrison, a noted planetary scientist.  In updating this latest edition, they were joined by Andrew Fraknoi, an award-winning astronomy educator. --Publisher
