These elements can be used for 3 phase differential protection or restricted earth fault (REF) protection. It is recommended that the I>1 is used as the main protection element for 3 phase differential protection and the I REF >I S for the REF applications. The I REF >I S enabled by selecting "Hi 2 REF" (SEF/REF PROT’N/SEF/REF options).
