Description

Excellent carry around book with GREAT maps (city and neighborhood level) and ideas to build itineraries with "best of" suggestions, walking tours, etc. There is a total of 22 self guided tours and 40 (!) maps. The foldout front cover with a city map on one side and a very good Paris Metro map (that is easier to understand than the official subway map) were invaluable for getting around efficiently to where you wanted to go. Not great for hotels and restaurants - only useful as a cross reference - use other sources specializing in those areas. It would be 5 stars if it included a bus map that was as good as the Metro map, and, also, inexplicably, it does not include any info on Musee de l'Orangerie where some of Monet's more impressive works reside. Otherwise, if you are a "map person" who likes getting around on their own, this is the guide for you.
