Description

Physical reconstructions of archaeological sites can never accurately reflect the past, but are influenced by contemporary cultural perceptions and norms. This collection examines a group of construction sites in which full-scale images for the past have been created for reasons such as archaeological experimentation, tourism and education. The various case studies analyze the sites' aims, discuss the problems of reconstruction, and examine the various uses of the sites: political, economic and educational.
