Description

Compliant systems are characterized by complex deformation and motion behavior, which complicates both their modeling and ultimately their application. This book presents methods both of classifying and of modeling compliant mechanisms, actuators, and sensors according to diverse criteria, enabling or simplifying their selection, modeling and design. The content of this book is based on many years of experience gathered at the Compliant Systems Group at Technische Universität Ilmenau, and is the subject of a number of classes offered to students of the Department of Mechanical Engineering. This book is intended both for students of engineering, as well as those who have already qualified. Further, it is written for anyone interested in compliant systems, or who wishes to implement them. Preface......Page 6 Contents......Page 8 1. Introduction......Page 12 2.
