Yacht race. John Ridgway, 1966 crossed the Atlantic in a rowboat with Chay Blyth. He and his wife eventually bought a 57' ketch which they could enter in the 1977-78 Whitbread Round the World Yacht Race. Compiled from diaries they kept throughout the eight-and-a-half-month voyage.
