Description

Alexander Historiatus is not only what its subtitle suggests, i.e. a guide to illustrated manuscripts and early printed editions of the Alexander literature of Antiquity and the Middle Ages. It is also a survey of all the Alexander literature produced during these as such, as it systematically presents every important version of the Alexander story whether or not it is found in illustrated form. Moreover, it provides a basic bibliography for each text, including the text editions.
