Description

The Heart Essence of the Lady of Immortality or Chime Phakme Nyingtik is the most profound of all the teachings that Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo received through the seven methods of transmission, because not only does it bring about a long life, but a life that is free of obstacles. It also causes wisdom to blossom and is said to have the most blessings. Sublime Lady of Immortality – Teachings on Chime Phakme Nyingtik contains the translation of all the texts by the great masters of the Chime Phakme Nyingtik lineage. It contains Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo’s answers to questions about the Chime Phakme Nyingtik, Jamgön Kongtrul’s Retreat Manual, Jamyang Khyentse Chökyi Lodrö’s practice instructions, and Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche’s short visualization guide. It also contains the instructions from the oral lineage as taught by Tulku Orgyen Tobgyal in a series of eleven teachings. All these teachings, everything you find in this book, reveal the profound views, powerful meditations, sacred conduct, and ultimate goals of the Vajrayana teachings of Tibetan Buddhism. These teachings represent all the information necessary for practicing the Chime Phakme Nyingtik and clarify a number of points that apply to all sadhana practices. So, even if you don’t practice the Chime Phakme Nyingtik, you can benefit from reading this book. Orgyen Tobgyal’s presentations of kyerim practice based on the Chime Phakme Nyingtik in particular is packed with practical instructions passed down from the great siddhas of this lineage. About the Author Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo (1820-1892) was a major treasure revealer and one of the most eminent Tibetan masters of the nineteenth century. He was regarded as the combined reincarnation of Vimalamitra and King Trisong Deutsen. He became the founder of the Rime (ecumenical) movement. Jamgön Kongtrul Lodrö Tayé (1813-1899) was a great scholar, accomplished practitioner, and tertian, widely known for synthesizing the knowledge and experience of the many lineages of Buddhism in Tibet in 'The Five Great Treasures'. He was recognized by all schools of Buddhism in Tibet as one of their greatest masters Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche (1910-1991) was recognized as the mind emanation of Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo and was one of the closest disciples of Jamyang Khyentse Chökyi Lodrö. Regarded by many as one of the greatest Dzogchen masters of the twentieth century, and the very embodiment of Padmasambhava, Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche was the teacher of many of the important lamas of today. Orgyen Tobgyal Rinpoche is a revered Nyingma lama known for his directness, profundity, and near-perfect memory. He was born in Eastern Tibet in 1951 and resettled with his family in Sikkim in 1959. He is currently based in Bir, India, and travels throughout Europe and Asia teaching the dharma. He received teachings from Dzongsar Khyentse Chökyi Lodrö and Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche.
