Description

Latin American and Iberian entrepreneurship represents a special kind of innovation, risk-taking, and futuristic business activity based on a common cultural heritage. There has been an increased interest in entrepreneurship related to specific cultural groups, and this edited book will be among the first to provide a Latin American and Iberian perspective to the study of entrepreneurship, thereby acknowledging the role of the Spanish and Portuguese diaspora and language on the global economy. Each chapter will focus on a different aspect of entrepreneurship related to countries within Latin America and Iberia. By combining both geographical groups, the authors aim to provide a better understanding of how Latin culture permeates entrepreneurial business activities.   Acknowledgements Contents Contributors List of Figures List of Tables The Role of Entrepreneurship in Latin America and Iberia 1 Introduction 2 Defining Latin American and Iberian Entrepreneurship 3 Overview of the Book 4 Future Research Avenues 5 Conclusion References Venture Capital and Technology Entrepreneurship in Latin America: A Comparative Approach 1 Introduction 2 Literature Review 2.1 Access to Finance and TE: Venture Capital 2.2 Venture Capital in Emerging Economies 3 Methodology 3.1 Data and Variables 3.2 Model Specification 4 Empirical Results 4.1 Univariate Analysis 4.2 Multivariate Analysis 5 Conclusions References World Heritage Sites and Tourism Entrepreneurship in Latin America 1 Introduction 2 Latin American Entrepreneurship 3 World Heritage Sites and Tourism Entrepreneurship 4 Argentina 5 Belize 6 Bolivia 7 Brazil 8 Chile 9 Colombia 10 Costa Rica 11 The Dominican Republic 12 Ecuador 13 El Salvador 14 Guatemala 15 Haiti 16 Honduras 17 Mexico 18 Nicaragua 19 Panama 20 Paraguay 21 Peru 22 Uruguay 23 Venezuela 24 Conclusion References The Role of Douro River in the Emergence of Technological Entrepreneurship Initiatives 1 Introduction 2 Background 2.1 The Role of Douro River in Promoting Tourism 2.2 Emergent Technologies in Tourism 3 Entrepreneurship in the Context of Tourism 4.0 4 Entrepreneurship Initiatives in the Douro River 5 Conclusions and Future Research Directions References The Presence of Women in Private Family Firms´ Corporate Governance and Innovation Outcomes 1 Introduction 2 Literature Review and Hypotheses 2.1 Presence of Women in Family Firms´ Corporate Governance Structures 2.2 Presence of Women in Family Firms´ Corporate Governance Structures and Innovation 3 Data and Methods 3.1 Sampling and Data Collection 3.2 Measurement 3.2.1 Dependent Variable 3.2.2 Independent Variables 3.2.3 Control Variables 3.3 Modelling 4 Data Analysis and Results 5 Discussion and Conclusions 5.1 Contributions 5.2 Practical Implications 5.3 Limitations and Future Research Directions References Implementation Intentions of Potential High-Impact Entrepreneurs Among University Students: An Applied Analysis to the Case of... 1 Introduction 2 Theoretical Framework 2.1 Implementation Intentions in the Entrepreneurial Process 2.2 Implementation Intention as an Entrepreneurial Predictor 2.3 Implementation Intention Model and Hypothesis 3 Data and Methodology 3.1 Data Collection, Sample 3.2 Methodology, Study and Measurement Variables 3.2.1 Implementation Intention (Dependent Variable) 3.2.2 Independent Variables 4 Results 4.1 Measurement Model 4.2 Structural Model 5 Conclusions, Limitations and Future Lines of Research References World Heritage Sites in Portugal and Spain 1 Portugal 2 Spain 3 Conclusion References The Role of Different Types of Previous Experience in International Opportunity Recognition: Evidence from Spanish Internation... 1 Introduction 2 Literature Review and Hypotheses Development 2.1 Entrepreneurs´ Prior International Business Experience 2.2 Entrepreneurs´ International Living Experience 2.3 Entrepreneurs´ Past Negative Entrepreneurial Experience 3 Methodology 3.1 Sampling and Data Collection 3.2 Measures 3.3 Data Analysis 4 Results 4.1 Active and Serendipitous IOR 4.2 Hypotheses Testing 5 Discussion 5.1 Theoretical Contributions 5.2 Managerial Contributions 5.3 Limitations and Future Research 6 Conclusion Appendix : Questionnaire Items References Intrapreneurship in Tennis: Tell Me Who You Are... and I Will Tell You What Your Intentions Are 1 Introduction 1.1 Intrapreneurship and Characteristics 1.2 Intrapreneurship Intentions 1.3 Tennis Centres and COVID-19 2 Method 3 Participants 4 Instrument 5 Procedure 6 Data Analysis 7 Results 7.1 Necessary Conditions 7.2 Sufficient Conditions 8 Discussion 9 Conclusions 10 Limitations and Future Research References Strategy as a Tool for Management and Organizational Performance: Case Study in a Microenterprise-Arax-MG 1 Introduction 2 Theoretical Foundation 2.1 Organizational Strategy and Performance: Concept and Applicability 3 Methodology 4 Anlise Dos Resultados 5 Conclusions References
