Les cabanes de Nylso
Book information
Description
A tree house, a chalet in the mountains, a straw hut by the sea, a shack on top of a cliff, a cottage in the woods... All these modest and isolated shelters invite the walker to take refuge and meditate. A bit like when, as children, we were looking for a place of our own to dream, far from the adult world. In addition to his comics, Nylso keeps a notebook in which he draws landscapes daily and spontaneously. Guided by his rotring, he covers the paper with small lines that gradually form a meadow, a clearing, a forest. And in each of his improvised settings, there is a path that leads to a hut. Sometimes these huts look completely abandoned and other times they seem to have been left behind shortly before our arrival. With this series, Nylso continues the experiment of his book CABANES published in 2016 by Michel Lagarde and deploys his fascinating drawing technique where the accumulation of fine hatchings leads to plays of light and movement that reveal both the strength and the serenity of this drawn nature.
