I was sent by my government to check out a place that had declared its independence and which was seeking practical aid from French-speaking support. After arriving in that country, I discovered that the overall protection around the country was very general and its local army was organized and trained by a group of 'mercenaries'. Soon, I also realized that the negative concept MERCENARY had been deliberately made to sound dishonest. In fact, the country was well covered and the 'mercenaries' ensured that both local people and foreigners were well protected, and the occasional enemy attempts were dealt with speedily and cleanly. The leader of the 'mercenaries' had worked in a number of previous countries. And thanks to his strong and honest reputation, he attracted many other elements - including the occasional foreign soldiers who had switched to 'mercenary' organizations. Consequently, I now offer a novel based on a great deal of what I learned and saw during those several months. I spent that time working purely with the local government in that country and became personally knowledgeable regarding 'mercenary' activity. My book is clean and genuine, as regarded by the honesty and decency of 'mercenaries'.
