The Ṣaṭsāhasra saṃhitā : chapters 1-5

Description

The teachings or doctrine of Kubjikâ, the Kubjikàmata 8, arc revealed in the Kubjikam ata TantTa, the mùìa-lexl of the Kubjikâ School. He contains some 3.500 slokas in twenty-five chapters (patalasJ, for which reason it is referred to twice in the Satsahasra Samhitas adhy ustasamkhya sahasra, [containing] 3.500 [slokas] (3,41 ab, MS B F.208B = Ch. 25). In the National Archives at Kathmandu there are over fifty manuscripts of the Kubjikàmata Tantra 9. Closely related to the K ubjikàm ata Tantra is the Satsàhasra Sarnhitâ which contains approxim ately 6.000 slokas, as its title indicates, in fifty chapters Of the Satsàhasra Samhitâ there appear to exist only three manuscripts (see below pp.16 ff.)10, which is a rather insignificant numberin comparison with the number of manuscripts of the Kubjikàm ata Tantra. Moreover, one of the manuscripts of the Satsàhasra Samhitâ as copied in the first half of this century when the cult of Kubikà did not exist any more.
