Dieses Buch richtet sich an Unternehmen, die individualisierte Produkte anbieten oder anbieten wollen. Fragestellungen zur Entwicklung, zur Produktion und zur Auftragsabwicklung individualisierter Produkte als Element der Unternehmensstrategie werden behandelt. Die Beherrschung der Komplexität steht dabei im Mittelpunkt. Produktindividualisierung kann neue Wachstums- und Ertragspotenziale erschließen, ist aber auch mit Risiken und Problemstellungen verbunden, die abgewogen werden müssen. Individualisierte Produkte und die damit verbundene Orientierung am Kunden und seinen spezifischen Bedürfnissen erfordern neue Wertschöpfungskonzepte in allen Unternehmensbereichen, denn die Komplexität der Anforderungen steigt überproportional. Praxisbeispiele zeigen die schon heute umgesetzten Ansätze zur Variantenvielfalt und Produktindividualisierung. Das Buch unterstützt den Entscheider bei der Einführung einer Individualisierungsstrategie. Es bietet einen repräsentativen Querschnitt möglicher Konzepte und verstetzt betroffene Unternehmen in die Lage, die für sie jeweils relevanten Konzepte umzusetzen.
