Author: Ignacio Cervantes. Instrumentation: Flute and Guitar. Publisher: Mel Bay. 28 pages. Level: Intermediate/Advanced. Duchas Frias (Ignacio Cervantes, Arr. by Elias Barreiro) - Improvisada (Ignacio Cervantes, Arr. by Elias Barreiro) - La Celosa (Ignacio Cervantes, Arr. by Elias Barreiro) - La Encantadora (Ignacio Cervantes, Arr. by Elias Barreiro) - La Tarde Esta' Amorosa (Ignacio Cervantes, Arr. by Elias Barreiro) - Mis Amores (Ignacio Cervantes, Arr. by Elias Barreiro) - Siempre Si (Ignacio Cervantes, Arr. by Elias Barreiro) - Tiene Que Ser (Ignacio Cervantes, Arr. by Elias Barreiro). Select `Cuban Dances` by 19th century Cuban composer Ignacio Cervantes (1847-1905). Although Cervantes respected the binary form established by his predecessor Manuel Saumell, it was the romanticism of Cervantes' dances which distinguished the final evolutionary phase of the `contradanza`. They were conceived by Cervantes as `a page in the album of the Romantic Century`. This group of Cuban Dances were originally written for the piano and arranged here for flute and guitar in standard notation only with separate pull-out sections for guitar and flute.
