We do not pretend to have recorded all the words of this language; indeed, its lexicon is extensive. Nor do we pretend to have presented more than a small fraction of its semantic richness, which merits lifetimes of study. We hope that future editions will make more of it evident, by adding more words, by making the definitions more precise, by making finer sense discriminations, by including more synonyms, antonyms, derived forms, and so forth. Indeed, we feel as though we have dug only a few meters into a mountain full of gold, silver and precious stones.
