Wetting and Spreading Dynamics
Book information
Description
Wetting and Spreading Dynamics provides an understanding of the kinetic of wetting and spreading of real liquids over real substrates. This book introduces surface forces, wetting phenomena, rough substrates, porous substrates, and the influence of surfactants. It presents a discussion of the influence of surface forces, including equilibrium and kinetics. Topics in equilibrium include liquid films, non-flat surfaces, and line tension while topics in kinetics include film flow, thin films, and static hysteresis. It explores spreading over porous layers as well as the spreading and imbibition of surfactant solutions. The authors include open questions and address future directions.
