Proc. Ninth Nat. Conf. "Modern Tendencies in the Development of Fundamental and Applied Sciences". June, 5-6, 1998, Stara Zagora, Bulgaria, ISBN 954-8180-65-0, pp.160-165. Abstract. Tyrosinase is the key enzyme in the biosynthetic pathway of the melanin, accumulated in great amount in malignant melanoma. One of the most effective chemotherapeutic antimelanoma drugs is Dacarbasine (DTIC). In the current work, we studied in vitro the modulating effect of DTIC and its spin labeled derivative (SLDTIC) on DOPA-oxidize process, catalyzed by mushroom tyrosinase. On the basic of new software, called Korelia, we assessed the main dynamic parameters of the reactions: steady state value (C0); normalized coefficient of the quality factor (Kp) and the biological half-time constant (t½). Based of these findings we suggest an activating effect of SLDTIC on tyrosinase activity and predict a selective antimelanoma activity of this new compound.
