통일과 여성: 북한 여성의 삶 (Unification and Women: Life of North Korean Women)

이 연구들은 남북한이 지난 반세기 동안 각기 다른 체제를 키워온 매우 다른 사회라는 이질성을 인정하고, 서로 타른 점을 우리의 기준으로만 평가한다거나 단편적인 부분만을 떼어 우열을 비교하는 것이 아닌, 가능한 한 남북의 동질성을 회복하려는 치열한 노력에 기반하고 있다. 어느 한 자료를 대하더라도 그것이 그 사회에서는 어떤 이유에서 존재하게 되었으며 왜 존속하는지 그리고 그 사회에서 어떻게 평가되는지를 그 사회의 기준으로 가늠해 보려는 노력이 중요하다. 그러한 작업은 많은 상상력을 요구하게 된다. 그러한 상상력이란 다만 연구 작업에서만 필요한 것이 아니라 앞으로 통일이라는 엄청난 우리의 염원을 이루어 내는 데 끊임없이 요구될 하나의 자질일 것이라고 생각된다. These studies recognize the heterogeneity that the two Koreas are very different societies that have developed different systems over the past half century, and are based on fierce efforts to restore the homogeneity of the two Koreas as much as possible, rather than evaluating differences only with our standards or comparing superiority and inferiority by taking only fragmentary parts. In dealing with any material, it is important to make efforts to evaluate for what reason it existed in that society, why it persists, and how it is evaluated in that society, based on the standards of that society. Such work requires a lot of imagination. Such imagination is not only necessary for research work, but will be a quality that will be constantly required to achieve our great aspiration of unification in the future.
