Description

This book represents the more or less successful culmination of a great deal of trial and error. From my first efforts as a student teacher, I have found simulated exercises to be an engaging and effective way to teach substantive material. In this book, I have brought together ten exercises that have emerged from these efforts at lesson design. The lessons assembled here have been tried, refined, and tried again, both by myself and by some of the colleagues with whom I have worked. What has emerged is a mix of the theoretical and the practical, a combination of ambitious lessons tempered by the realities of the working classroom.
